Frank Reaugh - Documentary Preview
Tuesday night I was asked to display a few of my landscape paintings for a special sneek peak of a documentary on Frank Reaugh at the Frisco Heritage Association meeting. I was joined by some of my fellow local artists. It was really a great presentation and the documentary once complete is going to be outstanding. I learned a ton in just the 12 minute snippet. I encourage each of you to check out the Marla Fields' site about the documentary and learn a little more about Frank Reaugh. He is truly a pioneer in Texas art!

"Purple Hills" - New Acrylic Landscape
Purple Hills 20 x 20 Acrylic
Above is one of my new paintings I recently completed. It is going to be a part of a special reception at a sneak peak of a new documentary on Texas artist, Frank Reaugh, titled - Frank Reaugh: Pastel Poet of the Texas Plains. The documentary is being produced and created by Frisco Heritage member Marla Fields. I was asked by Marla to showcase a few of my landscape pieces for the reception. This should be a great event and great documentary. The event is Tuesday, September 27th at 7PM at the Frisco Heritage Center. It is free and open to the public. I'll let y'all know how it goes!

New Acrylic Transfer Complete
Alamo Plaza #4
Here is my new photo transfer piece that I just finished. It is 24 x 24 on panel board. The transfer was done on old maps, train schedules, and other ephemera. I will have it on display at the Frisco Artists Studio Tour on October 15th and 16th. I also hope to have it hanging on the walls at Frisco City Hall for this year's Art In The Atrium Show. More details to come on both events!

My Art, Your Home #3 - Hayes Carll Poster and Set List -
Remember this post from back in February? I had a lady contact me and ask if she could get a copy of the poster from the show that I had helped design. She said that she had gotten the set list that night and wanted to frame it up with the poster. I mailed the poster off a few weeks ago to her and she recently sent me a picture of the poster framed up with the set list. It's funny because I must have visited with her at the show since I took a picture of the set list while in line to meet Hayes. I think it looks great all framed up!

New Stuff! - Horseshoe Lounge Transfer
I'm just about finished with this one. It is the largest acrylic transfer that I've ever done. I collaged the background as usual and then I painted it before I transferred the image. It is 24" x 24". This was a bear! I have no skin on the tip of my right index finger to prove it......that was some rubbin' I'm super happy with how this is shaping up!

New Acrylic Photo Collage Transfers
Lone Star Beer Bus
Horseshoe Lounge
I finished 12 new acrylic transfers this week. They are all 7.5 x 7.5 on poplar wood. Here is a sneak peak of a few of them. I am going to be involved in a local artist studio tour in October so I am trying to knock out some new stuff! It's good to get back in the groove creating art.
