New dining room walls - Restoration Hardware Silver Sage- now to find a table
As we settle into our new house I want make sure everyone knows that I'm still painting......just not on canvas or wood.......but on walls and beds. The dining room walls were completed Monday and the bed on Tuesday. We bought my daughter's bed in Canton last month at Trade Days for $50!!! It was laying in some high grass in the junk section. We squeezed it in the car....I mean squeezed! Then I bought some bed rails on EBAY for $80, and some spray paint for $15 and we got us a nice looking antique iron bed for around $145. We had to laugh when we saw the new Anthropologie catalog featuring their white antique iron bed on the front cover going for $1400! + $250 shipping..... Suckers.
Jeb, I loved seeing this post! I was in Canton that same weekend yall were and bought Lexi Ann an iron bed that looks exactly like the one you all bought. Its still sitting in the garage with the original paint that is rusting off. I love the way it looks and am considering some sort of clear enamel paint to keep "the look". BUT, Im also afraid that somehow that old paint will have led and will get through the enamel. I love the way your white paint turned out. I might just try that....
