Photography Show Award
Well, I'm pleased to announce that my Texan Motel photo received 3rd place in the altered process category at the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco Photography Show. I won $50, so that was cool. The show is up until August 19th at the Frisco Discovery Center. If you are in town, you should check it out.....there is some awesome stuff up there. In other news, I just got back in town after a week long trip to Tennessee. I'm now ready to get some art going. I have some new stuff in the works.

Texas Town Map Drawing
I got a little bored around midnight last night. I decided to fill in the shape of Texas with a lot of the Texas towns. I don't want to hear any complaints about why your town was left off either. I can't write that small!

Computer work station - with my sweet vintage Doak Walker chair
Drawing table - a few original pieces still looking for a good home hanging above
Closet space - I am able to keep all my art supplies out of sight! This will be my next project - organizing!
Art Books / Architecture Books / Pearl Beer Memorabilia
Texana Books / Sports Books
A few of my antique books for my collages
Room divider wall - Some Holga Images and a couple of original paintings from Dolan Geiman
Small portion of my SWC and Texas Tech Collectibles - Jones Stadium Astroturf as well
I've been working hard the last few days to get my office / studio in order. It's quite a daunting task when you collect like me. It was hard, but I hand selected the pieces I wanted to be surrounded by for inspiration. I have about 15 boxes in the attic that didn't make the cut. I finally feel like I can relax and get back to being creative. I still have a couple of bookcases that are works in progress but for the most part I'm done! Take a look.

Don't Worry. I've Been Painting Alright...Just Not On Canvas
New dining room walls - Restoration Hardware Silver Sage- now to find a table
As we settle into our new house I want make sure everyone knows that I'm still painting......just not on canvas or wood.......but on walls and beds. The dining room walls were completed Monday and the bed on Tuesday. We bought my daughter's bed in Canton last month at Trade Days for $50!!! It was laying in some high grass in the junk section. We squeezed it in the car....I mean squeezed! Then I bought some bed rails on EBAY for $80, and some spray paint for $15 and we got us a nice looking antique iron bed for around $145. We had to laugh when we saw the new Anthropologie catalog featuring their white antique iron bed on the front cover going for $1400! + $250 shipping..... Suckers.

Prepping For Photography Show
Above are my entries for the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco Photography Show. I've got the photo transfers framed with some old yard sticks. I'm really liking how they look framed up with the rulers. This may be a new touch I stick with. In other news, my studio is just about complete. I've only got a few more boxes to unpack and after that I should be ready to roll and create some new stuff. I'll post pics when I get it ready!
