My Cavan inspired piece
A sneak peek of one of Jennifer's new works
Our family took a trip to Angel Fire, New Mexico for spring break last week. We had a great time skiing, eating, relaxing, and sightseeing. One of my highlights was visiting Jennifer Cavan's studio. Her studio was about a mile from our cabin rental. My daughter and I stopped by for an hour or so. Jennifer even set up a easel for me so I could make some art! I have been a fan of Jennifer's work for many years and it was really cool to be able to pick her brain and paint along side her in her studio. If you are not familiar with Jennifer's work make sure you check out her blog and her website. Thanks Jennifer for letting us stop by!
That is incredibly cool. It's a small world as I know of Jennifer from a mutual friend. I love that she opened her studio for you to visit and spend some time creating art (and that Meredith had an easel all her own). It looks like you had a great vacation.
ReplyDeleteLucky you - I love her work, too. Isn't it wonderful to visit an artist in their creative space?
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool. I bet you had a fun time getting the official "Jen's
ReplyDeleteTop Tips" for creating stellar oil pastels! I would love to have a tour of her studio. We should all make a point of doing a round robin studio visit tour. Just think how just plain fun it would be, how many new artist friends and connections we could make, and the unlimited opportunities of learning and inspiration.
Cool. . . I would love to know what sort of varnish she uses on her unframed OPs. Have not been able to find that anywhere.
